One venture you might not have heard much about on the men's professional circuit, is their ATP University program. Sixteen players from ten countries recently took part in one of two annual 3-day sessions to help young and upcoming players better manage their lives on the ATP Tour, and indeed to tell them more about the operations of the Tour itself.
The Miami-based event included more than a dozen key areas such as anti-doping and corruption, and gave the chance to learn about saving and investing. These sessions are mandatory for any player enjoying his first year of ATP World Tour Division 1 membership.
Away from the learning, the group were also given the experience of an NBA match-up between Miami Heat and the Charlotte Hornets. It's good to know that the ATP is working proactively to set youngsters off on the right path!
