If you are a club player and have missed a week or two, or even a couple of months, due to a nagging injury, then imagine you're a top professional and, due to serious wrist problems, haven't been able to play tennis for almost two years.
This is the fate that befell popular Argentine star Juan Martin del Potro; therefore you can surely appreciate the emotion behind these words when he spoke them recently after reaching the second round of the BNP Paribas Open. From a high-point of number four in the Emirates ATP rankings, he admits he came close to quitting the game, not even able to watch matches on TV. At just 27, let's hope he enjoys an injury-free second part of what could still be a stellar career.
