Tennis pro Venus Williams, ranked #10, was hit with a grand slam upset on Friday to unseeded Elena Vesnina.
The match started off quite intense and finished in a surprise that had the crowds in an uproar. It was a strong match-up but Elena came through, and it was a victory that took every ounce of effort to complete. Vesnina controlled the first set, and Williams turned up her game in the second set, which expended her energy levels completely. It was left to the decisive third set, where Elena Vesnina came out on top. Williams was a good sport and wished Vesnina luck through the rest of the tournament. Congratulations to both players for the amazing show during this match-up!
